Our story

A family business grown in Colorado.

From native trees dug near Westcliffe to Brady's Garden & Spa Center in Cañon City, the Brady story has always been rooted in plants, family, and hard work.

Where it began

More than six decades of growing knowledge.

In 1961, Dick Brady began digging and selling aspen, fir, piñon, ponderosa, and spruce trees in the Westcliffe area. Dick and Rhoda moved their family to Cañon City in 1969 and opened Brady's Evergreen Nursery, adding deciduous trees and shrubs to the evergreens they grew and sold.

Plants were part of everyday life for the Brady family. Dick and Rhoda raised 12 children, and the children helped at the nursery after school and on Saturdays—learning plant care, customer service, and the value of doing a job well.

The next generation

Family experience you can still feel today.

When Dick retired in 1994, sons Delwin, Derald, Dean, and Darren assumed leadership of the family business and formed Brady Brothers, Inc. The same practical knowledge passed down through the family still guides how Brady's grows plants, chooses products, and helps customers.

Brady's Evergreen Nursery remains the wholesale nursery division at 829 Brewster Avenue in Cañon City. Brady's West expanded the family's reach into Chaffee County in 2008, with greenhouses that grow annuals, vegetables, herbs, and hanging baskets.
